About Cha Cha Metsi
For thirty years, the Niven family has been exploring the wonderful gems that the Okavango Delta and Botswana have to offer. For us, it was logical to recreate something enduring: a camp with a close relationship to nature and people, where families can experience the Delta together. Beneath leadwood and knob-thorn trees, our tented rooms look over permanent water. The design and décor return to a bygone era of safari, while the open decks keep the landscape at the centre of your stay.
Our central living space is peppered with family heirlooms on the water’s edge. Sit back and take in the scenery: African jacanas, pygmy geese and little bee-eaters, hippos moving through the lagoon, and wildlife across the wetland beyond. Local guides share the place they know through game drives, mokoro outings and guided walks, with horseback safaris for experienced riders. Between outings, there is time for good food, a book and the view. Come with us on a journey and relive the golden years of safari.

Six tented rooms, open living and dining spaces, and a pool overlook the waters of the Delta. Family heirlooms give the camp its character; local guides bring the surrounding landscape to life.
Explore wetland, woodland and open grassland by vehicle or mokoro, then return to the comforts of camp. Elephants, giraffes, antelope and abundant birdlife belong to this landscape; every outing brings a different perspective.

The pool lounge and main pool
Life at camp
Pool daysand sundowners.
After a morning in the Delta, return for a swim, a book and time to watch the light change. The pool and deck offer a quieter rhythm, with the wetland close by. Stay a little longer for sundowners and conversation before dinner.
The main pool welcomes guests from both the Meru and family tents and is separate from the standard tents’ private plunge pools. Speak to the team about special sundowner or celebration arrangements.
